Bio

Hello, I'm Paul Estep. My father retired from the Air Force and moved to Newburgh, IN where he worked for the University of Evansville. Newburgh is were I spent most of my childhood. I graduated from the University of Evansville with a Computing Science Degree.

My first job after college was with the Air Force at Hill AFB, Odgen UT, in the Civil Service. At Hill AFB I held a number of different computer-type positions in Office Automation, Procurement, and Test and Development. In 1995 after nearly 10 years of service I received a Pink Slip from the Air Force. I was being laid off. It was a trying time but fortunately at the last moment a position opened and I was not laid off.

The new position was at Edwards AFB, California where I managed a small group of people in the testing of the Air Force Mission Support Systems. California is a nice place to visit but I wanted to move back to the Mid-West.

In 2000 the Air Force Program I worked on was targeted with a new federal initiative to move more management responsibilities to outside contractors. I was offered a new position at Edwards AFB but decided it was time for me to move back home. I returned to Indiana were I worked with computers.

Kentucky and Owensboro have always been a second home for me ever since my sister moved to Owensboro over 20 years ago. For many years I visited Owensboro to see my sister and eat at it's restaurants, mostly Moonlight Barbeque.

In 2007 I moved to Owensboro to be closer to my sister's family.

In 2009 with the exploding US Debt and Deficit I became worried about our country. After hearing about Tea Parties around the nation I went online to find an Owensboro Tea Party to attend. I found a number of people wanting to attend one but no one was organizing one. So I decided to find out how to arrange a small event. After a number of calls and some good coordination with the City of Owensboro, I organized one of two Tea Party events in Owensboro on April 15th, 2009, at McConnel Plaza along the river. I could not have of done this by myself. I had a lot of help from others.

The 2009 Tea Party Rally is what got me started to try to change our country for the better. Running for State Representative is just a continuation of this.
